May 8, PM. Has this issue gone away? May 10, PM. I just inserted a disc from a set that I was in the middle of encoding when all this began. I encoded the first 3 discs successfully, then a few days later tried the rest and no go. It is still the case that the metadata is not coming up and is showing the error message. I checked "Apple Software Update" to see if a new version of iTunes was there to correct the problem but I am on the most current version of iTunes for Windows.

May 13, PM. I wonder if there is a preference file that points to a particular Gracenote database that can be changed? I had a quick look but couldn't find a file that contains that kind of information. I wonder if anyone knows anyone who is running an older version of iTunes on Windows and if they still have access to the Gracenote database? Still no change on my end.

I even tried rebooting the modem as someone suggested above. Still the same issue 0x0 Gracenote error. I have the same issue on 2 laptops windows 10 following the last iTunes update. Good luck! I vaguely remember some mention a few months ago that suggested to me that Gracenote functionality might not work on older versions of iTunes like I have for much longer. Then I looked into XLD and found it quite useful and liberating.

Recommend trying it - mine was free to use. George Cooke , Oct 3, It can't hurt to install XLD and see what happens. I do have current or very recent iTunes versions all around, though.

If your iTunes isn't current, then Support will tell you 1st to update it. Contacting Gracenote is possible, although I don't know what their response time is, or whether they're concerned with end-users. BruceS , Oct 4, Location: Seattle, WA. I seem to remember hearing something about Apple shutting down I tunes in favor of some newer software package not to long ago.

Your firewall can block iTunes, and that can lead to this and many other problems. To fix that, you need to check your firewall settings and make sure that iTunes is allowed to go through your firewall. After your modem restarts, check if the problem is still there. In most cases, you can fix this issue simply by changing your firewall settings and allowing incoming connections to iTunes.

To use Gracenote on iTunes, select the songs you want to add information to, open the File menu, click Library, and click the Get Track Names option.
